The Commander General of the Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS, Dr. Joshua Osatimehin has sought stronger collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, particularly in intelligence sharing and security operations within forested areas across the country.

Dr. Osatimehin made the request during a visit to the Commandant General of NSCDC, Professor Abubakar Audi, at the Corps headquarters in Abuja.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the NFSS Commander General to congratulate Professor Audi on his reappointment for another five-year term as the Commandant General of the NSCDC.

Dr. Osatimehin described the reappointment as well deserved, attributing it to Professor Audi’s sterling performance, dedication and the remarkable achievements recorded during his first tenure in office.

He noted that closer cooperation between the NFSS and the NSCDC would strengthen the security architecture in Nigeria, particularly in tackling crimes often perpetrated within forested areas.

The Commandant General of NSCDC, Professor Abubakar Audi, assured the NFSS Commander General that the Corps would continue to partner with the NFSS, especially in the area of training and retraining of its officers and men to enhance the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure located within forested regions.
