The Delta State Police Command has killed two suspected kidnappers and rescued two female victims during a gun battle along the Obulu-Uku power line.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed that the operation, carried out by the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad in collaboration with the military, followed reported kidnapping incidents in Ibusa and Enu-Ani Mega City, Ogwashi-Uku.
At about 12:40 a.m. on April 9, 2026, suspects opened fire on approaching security forces, triggering a duel. Operatives neutralized two gang members and rescued the victims. Recovered items include one AK-47 rifle with 19 rounds of ammunition, and ₦4.2 million suspected to be part of ransom.
SP Edafe says the injured suspects later died at a hospital while the search for fleeing gang members continues.
