The Federal Government has condemned the killing of two Nigerians in South Africa and is calling for a swift investigation and prosecution of those responsible. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the victims, Emeka Charles Iroegbu and Musa Yunana Joe (Big Joe), were killed on June 28, while another Nigerian, Nnaemeka Mathew Andrew Ekpenyong, was allegedly killed by the same officers in April. The government expressed concern over the alleged targeting of Nigerians amid rising xenophobic tensions, condemned inflammatory remarks by some South African officials, and called for accountability for individuals and groups accused of inciting violence and hate against fellow Africans.
