President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a high-level state visit to Türkiye, departing Abuja tomorrow, Monday, January 26.

This visit aims to deepen the longstanding cordial ties between Nigeria and Turkiye while opening new avenues for collaboration in key sectors.

A statement from the President's special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga says, the trip will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring enhanced cooperation in areas such as security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.

The visit comes as a reciprocal move, following Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's official trip to Nigeria from October 19 to 20, 2021.

During the engagements in ankara, the two leaders and their delegations will hold strategic political and diplomatic discussions, emphasizing shared priorities in finance, communication, trade, and investment.

The agenda will include meetings between high-ranking officials of both nations and the signing of memoranda of understanding (mous) in scientific research, energy, technical cooperation, media and communications, military cooperation and protocol, among others.

A business forum will bring together investors from both countries to explore areas of interest during the visit.  This visit underscores Nigeria's commitment to forging stronger international alliances that deliver tangible benefits in security, economic growth, and development.

President Tinubu is expected to return to the country at the conclusion of the visit.
