King Charles III receives Nigerian delegation ahead of President Tinubu’s UK visit

Ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the United Kingdom, the first in 37 years, His Majesty King Charles III has warmly received members of the President’s delegation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yussuf Tuggar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and the British Nigerian diaspora were received at a special diaspora event at St. James's Palace Wednesday evening, where the King expressed delight in engaging with Nigerians in the diaspora ahead of President Tinubu’s visit.

The upcoming royal visit is expected to include high-level diaspora engagements to strengthen bilateral ties and cultural bridges, showcase Nigerian excellence and contributions globally.

There are expectations that the engagement will open doors for investment, skills transfer and deepen partnerships while highlighting the invaluable role of Nigeria’s over 20 million diaspora in national development.
