A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and President of the Globe Legislators International, Sam Onuigbo, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.
Onuigbo says President Tinubu deserves another term in office, citing what he describes as positive developments resulting from the administration’s socio-economic policies. According to him, while the policies came with significant challenges at the initial stage, their impact is gradually becoming evident across different sectors of the Nigerian economy.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, the APC chieftain said the economic recovery policies of the Tinubu administration have placed Nigeria on what he described as a progressive path.
He pointed to improvements in the security situation, increased foreign direct investment, developments in the education sector through the NELFUND scheme, and noticeable growth in the nation’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP, as verifiable signs of progress.
Onuigbo also highlighted the establishment of the South East Development Commission and the appointment of more Nigerians of Igbo extraction to key positions within the federal government.
He further referenced ongoing road projects and other infrastructure developments across the South East, including the expansion of Enugu Airport and the approval for the construction of the Abia Airport.
The APC chieftain expressed optimism that these developments, alongside other federal government interventions in the region, could translate into increased support for President Tinubu in the South East ahead of the 2027 general elections.
