Troops Rescue 15 NYSC Members, Six Others in Kogi Forests

The Defense Headquarters has confirmed the rescue of 15 National Youth Service Corps members and six other victims from the Egume and Ochaja forests in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The corps members were reportedly kidnapped on August 26, 2026, while returning from their NYSC orientation camp.

The military says the rescue operation is part of wider efforts to combat insecurity across the country. During the month under review, troops reportedly eliminated more than 300 terrorists, arrested over 300 others and rescued more than 600 kidnapped victims.
