The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has demanded what he calls a careful, clinical, and timely rescue of students and teachers abducted from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, insisting that speed and precision must guide the ongoing rescue operation.

In a statement, Speaker Abbas strongly condemns the assault on the schools, regretting it occurred at a time Nigeria is battling a massive out-of-school children crisis.

While acknowledging the efforts by Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, and the subsequent deployment of security forces, the Speaker stressed that the safety of the abductees must remain paramount and that the perpetrators must not escape the full weight of the law.

He extends his empathy to the families of the victims and offered prayers for the safe rescue of all abductees, reiterating the resolve of the House of Representatives to support measures that guarantee the security of learning environments across the country.
