The Federal Government has called on Nigerians to move beyond celebrating the nation’s independence and embrace patriotism, sacrifice and collective responsibility towards building a stronger, more united country.
The call was made at the 2026 Independence Church Thanksgiving Service in Abuja, where prayers were offered for peace, stability and national prosperity as Nigeria marks another year of independence.
Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to building a Nigeria where unity, peace and a shared sense of national purpose remain the foundation for sustainable development.
