
Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Nigeria after representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, India.
During the visit, Shettima participated in high-level sessions and held bilateral meetings focused on strengthening Nigeria’s economic and diplomatic interests.
Key discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi covered crude oil trade, investment, pharmaceuticals, defense, digital technology, fintech and renewable energy.
Nigeria also used the summit to advance cooperation in agriculture, artificial intelligence, manufacturing, healthcare, energy and human-capital development, while calling for reforms to global governance and financial institutions.
